The pictures in this book are a small selection made in 2019 during the height of the Extinction Rebellion. I spent a year in London documenting their protests against the use of fossil fuels. The result is a unique record of a 'tribe' that came together to make their voice heard using non-violent passive resistance. It is another book inthe series about the Modern Tribes of England that has become part of my the lifelong work.
David Gilbert Wright has immersed himself in this tribe in order to really find out more about them. His Black & White photographs of this tribe have a distinctly unique quality having been shot on film.
This is the sixth book by David Gilbert Wright in the f8 Documentary Monograph series. You will like this small book if you are interested in visual anthropology and black & white photography of the past.
