Modern Jane-ites are the first subculture of this country. They have a history spanning over a hundred years beginning with J.E. Austen-Leigh's first mention in 1870 describing Jane-ites as a literary elite who had a special appreciation of Jane Austen novels. I have spent several years documenting this group and my approach has been one that combines the conventions of Fashion Photography with those of Documentary Photography. These pictures demonstrate that stylistic approach and at the same time offer an insight into a little known or seen part of English society.
