Mods as a subculture form part of my early years. In the late sixties my sisters were into the music. I was a bit too young to really get into the fashion but my they embraced the Mary Quant styles. When the first revival came in the 1970s, Mods were hugely significant in my style choice as I came out of the Punk thing. Out came the Stay-Press trousers again, along with the button-down collars and skinny ties. London buzzed with new looks but the old-guard adhered to their boating blazers and Parkas as they mounted their scooters as they always had. The film Quadrophenia fuelled an awareness of Mods and invited new followers of the fashion.
